Getting To Know Richard Overton

Among the names that are known in the arts and entertainment world, one of the most notable would be that of Richard Overton. He is a well rounded entertainer who is known as both an actor and comedian. People will also know him for his capabilities of being a screen play writer.

Rick, as he was known, was born on August tenth. The year was 1954. He was born in Queens, in New York to Nancy and Hall, his parents. He inherited his appreciation of entertainment from them both, His mother was a singer and his father was a music arranger and an accomplished teacher.

Although Queens, was originally the pace where he was born, he was actually raised in a different setting. They moved to the state pf New Jersey. This caused him to spend a great deal of his childhood time in Englewood. Here, he was able to attend Dwight Morrow High.

It was in 182 that Rick made his first on screen appearance. At the time, there was a movie which was being produced that is aimed towards spoofing the popularity of medical shows that are being aired on tv. This movie was title 'Young Doctors In Love', which Rick was part of the cast.

Afterward, Richard Overton was next seen in the sequel flick to the 'Airplane'. Rick was cast in this sequel which, like the first one was also themed on comedic actions. It was written by ken Finkleman. It was also learned that Finkleman also did the directing of the movie.

Nine eighties saw Rick being part of ensembles of cast of various tv shows and films. It has been reported that in this decade alone, he was a part of thirteen movies as well as seven televisions shows. Among the most notable ones include 'Odd Jobs', 'Beverly Hills Cop', 'Million Dollar Mystery', 'Modern Girls', and 'Blind Fury' among many others.

During the nineties, Rick was given his very own television show. However, 'The Edge' had to stop running after a year. In addition, he landed a guest role for two episodes of popular show 'Sienfeld'. He was also able to land a role in Robin Williams' flick at the time, which was 'Mrs. Doubtfire.

Richard Overton's career has been noted to span several decades now. His work for Dennis Miller Live in the year 1997 even earned him an Emmy. He wrote an episode for the show that earned him the award. His latest project was with Cameron Diaz' 2011 flick, 'The Bad Teacher'.
