Anyone can find their way to the store to purchase ready made. You are being thoughtful in doing so and some people even make cards with family photos and a special imprinted greeting. Despite this, they still say nothing about you.
There are many who have never crafted before and it would be foolish to choose an elaborate card. Keep the first ones you do simple. Some finished greetings may not look too complicated but view the how-to list and see all the steps that go into making just one. Supplies are purchased a a local craft store or through one of the many internet sights.
Patterns are found in crafting magazines and again the internet offers free patterns. Many of the cards are hand painted and embellished with calligraphy but if you have no practice in these skills, it is best not to use them. In their place use colored papers of gold and silver. A wide assortment of ribbons will do nicely. Glitter is fun but it can be messy.
Never worry about beginning your project early in the year. Especially for the newcomers to crafting, you will find the holidays getting here sooner than you might think. Some people will even craft their items during summer months and store them until it is time to put them in the mail.
Deciding who to send them too can be a bit complicated. Making the list is easy enough but how many on the list are going to enjoy receiving a hand crafted greeting. It is sheer folly to do all that work to have your card thrown away with all the others. Only include on the list those people that you are sure will enjoy the work that went into it and keep it as a memory of your thoughtfulness.
