Jersey Shores Eason 6 Guarantees Hours Of Fun Viewing For Fans

By Justas Kanskis

MTV's flagship show Jersey Shores season 6 premiere in America was on the twelfth of October 2012. The music-video channel had previously announced that series six of Jersey Shore was going to be the final season in a rapid-fire cycle of its docu-soap styled reality TV show centered on eight perma-tanned, hard-drinking wild-living twenty-somethings. Their booze fuelled shenanigans take place with a backcloth of a communal house in the New Jersey coastal town of Seaside Heights.

The eight young housemates first appeared to MTV viewers on December the third 2009. They have also featured in series based in Miami, and Florence, Italy. Wherever they go, their drunken antics and fights are always caught on film. This created one of MTV's biggest ever ratings successes, thanks to two solid months of partying down and hooking up.

This mixed bag of four young women with impossibly orange skin, and four muscle-bound 'Meatballs' have been seen in an aggregate of 71 installments; each chapter lasted not quite 45 minutes. The notion that sparked this "loud, young, bold" program was brought to life for MTV thanks to SallyAnn Salsano. Her awareness of comparable house sharing for the summer break guided her into this idiosyncratic direction.

The original cast consisted of Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Nicole "Snookie" Polizzi, Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino, Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Sam "Sweetheart" Giancola, Vinny Guadagnino, and Angelina Pivarnick. From the third season on, Angelina was replaced by Nicole Cortese. As the names might suggest, many of the cast are from Italian-American backgrounds.

This Italian family upbringing encouraged the celebrities to decree themselves as "guidos and guidettes". The abuse of these slang expressions has stirred controversy since the Italian-American society consider the terminology to be slurs on their racial ethnicity. Some corporations decided to pull their advertising because of these concerns.

Remotely-controlled cameras in thirty-five fixed positions, twelve more hand-held cameras, one IMX camera and another six DV cameras capture every drink-fuelled move made by each member of the cast. This set-up quickly developed a large following which hit the high point of an audience figure approaching nine million in the third season. Ratings remained positive, but were declining before the declaration that the sixth series would bring the program to an end.

Snooki's pregnancy, spin-off ventures for members of the cast including Polizzi, DelVecchio, and Farley plus Guadagnino's chat show project are rumored to have been some of the complications that influenced the MTV's executives' assessment that the show should be cancelled. Snooki in particular has had an image of a pocket-sized trouble-maker. Each of the six series has currently been put out on DVD, and a soundtrack album, featuring the show's theme (LMFAO's "Get Crazy"), is available on a CD by Universal Republic and MTV.

This 'out of this world' show has been such a phenomenal success, that when Jersey Shores season 6 was aired, its stars enjoyed lucrative personal endorsements for goods like fragrances, sunglasses, energy drinks and slippers. Products like Halloween outfits, beach game kits, a diverse variety of clothing, and even bobble-headed talking dolls of the characters are on sale. The music video promoting "I Like It", Enrique Iglesias' hit track also features all 8 cast members of this great show.
